Fried Plantains

Ingredients
  

  • 2 ripe plantains
  • 4 tbsp of vegetable oil, or enough to cover bottom of pot

Instructions
 

  • Peel the plantains, and cut into 3 cylinders, then slice each cylinder lengthwise into about 4 pieces (about ⅛ inch thick).
  • Heat the oil to medium heat.
  • When hot, fry the plantains and turn over when brown.
  • Place plantains on a plate with layers of paper towel to drain the excess oil.
