Boiled Green Fig
Green figs are green bananas.
- 4 green bananas
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ cup chopped tomato
- 1 slice onion, ¼ inch thick cut in half and separated into semi-circles
Remove the skin from the green bananas and cut the bananas into 1-inch-thick cylinders.
Add all ingredients to a pot.
Add water just to cover the green bananas. The water will blend into the tomatoes and onions to make a nice light gravy.
Bring to slight boil, then simmer for about 5 minutes, until figs are soft.
Make sure water does not dry out or the pot and food will burn.
Pairing:
Serve with any grain and legume dish.
Serve with sautéed vegetables or veggie buljol.
