Hummus

Ingredients
  

  • 1½ - 2 cups cooked chickpeas
  • 2 tsp garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tbsp tahini sesame seed paste (optional)
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 tsp salt, or to taste

Instructions
 

  • Add the chickpeas into a food processor (or a bowl if using a potato masher).
  • Add the remaining ingredients and pulse in the processor until desired smoothness.
  • If using a potato masher, you can use less water and mash until desired texture then mix with a spoon.
  • After desired texture, you can add other ingredients to taste, such as chopped olives, small cooked diced potato, chopped sweet pepper, chopped scallions or parsley leaves.
