Hummus
Ingredients
- 1½ - 2 cups cooked chickpeas
- 2 tsp garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp lime juice
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- ½ tsp ground cumin
- 2 tbsp tahini sesame seed paste (optional)
- ¼ cup water
- 1 tsp salt, or to taste
Instructions
- Add the chickpeas into a food processor (or a bowl if using a potato masher).
- Add the remaining ingredients and pulse in the processor until desired smoothness.
- If using a potato masher, you can use less water and mash until desired texture then mix with a spoon.
- After desired texture, you can add other ingredients to taste, such as chopped olives, small cooked diced potato, chopped sweet pepper, chopped scallions or parsley leaves.
