Oat Milk
Ingredients
- ¼ cup rolled oats
- 3 cups water
- Pinch of salt
- 1-2 tsp maple syrup or brown sugar Or 1-2 pitted dates (pre-soaked for 15 minutes, then chopped)
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients into a blender and blend for 20 seconds (do not over blend).
- For a more creamer texture, blend a handful of raw cashews (about 5 pieces) in the water first for about 1 minute. Then add the oats and other ingredients and blend for about 10 seconds. (Do not over blend because it will become a bit slimy. So, depending on your blender power, you can experient with how long you want to blend it.) Straining the liquid with a clean cloth or fine strainer to remove any oat pulp is optional.
- Store in the refrigerator, covered. Good for about 2 weeks.
- Shake well before using.
